Creating a Bloody Video Game with a Roman Setting
🎮 Alongside a colleague, we decided to create a straightforward yet uniquely themed video game. We placed significant emphasis on achieving good replayability through simple mechanics.
🛠️ My primary role was that of a lead 3D artist and technical artist. Essentially, I handled the majority of the 3D modeling, excluding the male gladiator, the audience, and some decorative elements like the columns. In the image gallery below, you can see all of my models. I also took charge of implementing the models and animations in Unity, as well as configuring the necessary scripts.
🎨 The artistic design had two clear objectives. Firstly, we aimed to achieve a Roman and classical aesthetic, and secondly, we wanted a "cartoon" aesthetic that wasn't overly exaggerated. The decision to include "cartoon" elements was partly due to the theme and somewhat graphic models in the game. We believed that this approach would make it less grotesque and potentially appeal to a broader audience. I created various character animations using Blender, along with the rigging process.
