Realistic Earth Animation
Modeling and animation of Earth in the vacuum with intriguing music
🎮 In this project, I embarked on creating a series of animations that capture the majesty and mysterious beauty of our planet Earth floating in the vacuum of space. The main intention was to merge fascination for the cosmos with an intriguing visual and auditory experience, using Blender with compelling music intertwining the two aspects.
🛠️ Essentially, the modeling of this scene was straightforward, as the only object is the Earth sphere, which is a sphere with a very low polygon count. The main demand for resources lies in the textures, as they are of very high quality, reaching extremes like 16K. This level of resolution is necessary because the modeled sphere is of very large dimensions, over 1000 meters per axis. This size is to create animations as realistic as possible.
🌌 The animation focused on capturing the smooth and constant rotation of Earth on its axis, with subtle movements that give the sensation of the eternal dance of the planet in the cosmos. Additionally, atmospheric elements and details such as city lights shining in the darkness were added, adding depth and realism to the scene. Furthermore, a shader and node system was devised so that as the sun rotates in the scene, only the dark part of the Earth is illuminated at each moment. Finally, thanks to Blender's composition, a touch of brilliance and glimmers were added in those parts where the sun hits the water.
🎵 Music played a fundamental role in creating the intriguing atmosphere I wanted to convey. Using intriguing music with marked beats to signify changes of perspective, the musical track accompanied each turn of the Earth with an enveloping melody that evoked a sense of wonder and mystery in the vastness of space.
